"I was there as an International Peace Observer. I wear these green ribbons because these green ribbons were given to me by the people of Ecuador and the people from the community of Mindo ~ and everyone was wearing green ribbons or something green on them. This is a symbol, there, of peaceful dissent against the oil pipeline ~ speaking out from a place of peace, for the earth, and for the people."
